Ninja Academy makes history at Judo National Championships
Avery Fam and Paul Teleki celebrating their gold in Koshiki-no-kata
On May 14th 2026 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Fuku Sensei Avery Fam and Sensei Paul Teleki made world record history by completing all 7 competitive kata at a National and International level tournament. Avery Fam and Paul Teleki set a new world record with 1400.5 cumulative points while performing all seven competitive kata. Furthermore, the pair brought home a gold in Koshiki-no-kata and Bronze in Nage-no-kata from the Judo National Championships. This monumental feat has never before been attempted and accomplished, particularly because of the complexity of learning and performing all katas, the time required to learn and practice all katas, and to be physically fit to perform all katas (Nage-no-kata, Katame-no-kata, Ju-no-kata, Kodokan Goshin Jutsu, Isutsu-no-kata, Koshiki-no-Kata and Kime-no-kata). Special thanks to the families of Avery Fam and Paul Teleki for supporting them during training and travelling to Calgary for this accomplishment as well as the leadership team for continuing classes in their absence. Both Fam and Teleki decided to take on this accomplishment in order to further their understanding in all the katas and share the knowledge with the next generation of Judo practitioners. This summer Fam and Teleki will be leading a summer camp in Peterborough, Ontario, focusing on all seven katas as a part of the 7-week summer camp you can learn about below.
